We are finally in the home stretch! Construction is wrapping up and the Lincoln School Apartment Program will soon open its doors. We all know what winter can be like in the North Country, and the interviews for Beyond the Box Podcast that I have conducted in the recent weeks have made me acutely aware of how many are in need of shelter before the snow flies.
We will soon be inviting our community to join us for our Open House. The building has turned out beautifully, with its contemporary design still retaining traditional elements of Lincoln School.
The Lincoln School Apartment Program (LSAP) is comprised of twenty units of permanent supportive housing that provide a safe, stable place to live while offering case management, self-help groups, health and wellness classes, independent living skills, home healthcare, and benefit advisement. It is our hope that the addition of 24/7 peer support will relieve some of the stress that is placed on our overburdened emergency room staff and first responders.
