Open to the Public

S.T.E.P. by S.T.E.P., Inc. is proud to host a powerful community event dedicated to nutrition, metabolic health, and chronic disease prevention. As part of our mission to support the health and well-being of our community, we are welcoming three expert guest speakers from Claxton-Hepburn Medical Campus for an informative morning that empowers individuals to take charge of their health.

Whether you are living with prediabetes or diabetes, caring for someone who is, or simply looking to learn more about nutrition and healthy living, this event is for you. Everyone is welcome—and admission is free.

What You Will Learn

During this engaging session, our speakers will break down complex health topics in a way that is easy to understand and apply to daily life. Participants will walk away with real-world strategies for improving their health and lowering their risk of chronic disease.

You’ll learn:

  • How obesity and insulin resistance can lead to chronic conditions like diabetes.

  • The connection between prediabetes, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome—and why it matters.

  • How the foods we eat affect our pancreas, our blood glucose levels, and our overall metabolic health.

  • Practical, doable strategies for building and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits.

These key insights help explain why so many chronic conditions are becoming more common—and more importantly, what we can do to prevent or manage them.

Key Points You’ll Take Home

  • Prediabetes and diabetes are caused by high levels of sugar in the blood.

  • Processed carbohydrates can drive weight gain and chronic conditions, including prediabetes and diabetes.

  • Lifestyle plays a major role in insulin sensitivity and how hard the pancreas needs to work.

Small, sustainable changes can make a big difference—and our speakers will show you how.
